Out of the Loop but getting back in

The past few weeks at work have been really hectic and I'm not going to bore you with the details. My time outside of work has been limited and as such I've been using it to ride and hit the gym and not writing about it.
In the past few weeks, I've had some great solo rides. The one's in which it's just you, your thoughts and the bike. Some have been a quick 30km while others have clocked 160+km. I've also been hitting the gym and incorporating some new exercises to help get me back to the level I was this time last year. Lots of lunges, squats, lifts and curls. This time though I've been doing some single legged ones and I'm really loving it.
I'll be starting up with my trainer again next week and no doubt she'll be kicking my ass eight ways to Sunday. I'm really looking forward to the 4:30am training rides(don't tell her) as I find they really start my day off right.
You've probably noticed that there is a music player on the blog now. Each week I'll try and copy the playlist I'm using during my rides in it.
Keep the Rubber Side Down my friends.

So glad to hear it... Ride Strong and know that you can be in just as good as shape... even better than last year. I look forward to the play list. You gotta be dedicated to get up at 4:30 for training rides.

Donald- It's either dedication or stupidity.:) I hope I can hit the level I was at last year.

4:30!! Wow, that's early! Glad you've been feeling good and getting lots of rides in!

Mel- Good as I'm going to until my next round of surgeries in August. I'm a huge morning person. I love watching the sun rise, I feel I'm part of the day that way.

Hey pedalman, good luck with the new gym schedule. Got to love those 4.30am starts.

Dream- Thanks for the well wishes, I'm starting to enjoy the gym time. If I could always start my day with a ride at 4:30am, I'd be super happy. That darn 'work' gets in the way some days.

Thanks for sharing your play list and could you also share some gym exercises that don't incorporate weights. I've got a yoga mat and a swiss ball and I'm always keen to spice up my routine. Cheers.

I just begged my coach to leave the 4:30 am starts alone for another few weeks, until it warms up a little ... :-)

Groover- I'll make my next post 'A week in the life of a struggling cyclist.' A great deal of my gym time doesn't involve weights.

Is there a 4:30 in the morning? I only know the afternoon one...

Sproketboy- I was just as surprised as you, but my coach assured me there was and even proved it by showing up at my house and made me look at a clock.

Thanks Pedalman. That would be great. I just started strength work at home. I managed two weeks in a row - that's a routine established. :-)

Yes, I like watching the sun come up also. Thanks for sharing the playlist. I'm about to embark on the workouts soon myself.

You'll be back to last years level in no time flat.

Groover- That's a routine without question!
Bluenoser- Morning is the best time of the day. I'm sure if I continue the routine I'll be back in form soon.
